Testimony: Reloaded.
By popular demand, I still owe my faithful readers another testimony…this ain’t as cool as the other one but it was awesome at the time.
WARNING: EXTREMELY LONG POST AHEAD!!!
Brief intro:
Objective is buy air ticket to Miri with Grads card as to get 50% discount. Grads card only applicable in MAS office and cannot be used at travel agent. Date is 28th November 2005( the date I posted the previous testimony). MAS office opens at 8.30am. Just for ur info, my fren went to buy her ticket at 9.30 on a normal working day and it took 2 hours before she got served. So lets begin now shall we:
Its 9.30am on Monday morning and I’m still sleepy as ever. I only slept at 4.30am the night before. Unfortunately for me, my retarded friend Andy was sleeping over at my place that night. He had just came back from Miri to take the final exams and since he’s been working he’s use to getting up early so he forced me against my will to get up too!!! Upon successfully doing so, I was then forced to shower as not to fall back asleep. By the time I was done showering and grooming myself it was about 10.30am.
Before going to MAS we went for brunch(breakfast + lunch) at "Botak’s Chicken Rice Shop". Of course that’s not the real name but thats what we called it. After a delicious bowl of chicken rice and a not-so-delicious glass of soya bean we were of on our journey…or so we thought. We walked up to the nearest bus stop and without even waiting there was one of those "van sewa" so we just jumped in. Halleluya!!! praise God!!!
-The end-
…haha, just kidding…if that was it that would be lame, huh??? Although that was one of the things which contributed to a great day of course thats not the testimony I was prepared to share…duh!!! So now it’s close to 11.30am and we arrive in town. We’re walking down to MAS and we notice the open air market. Being guys…and not just ordinary guys but Jiaren and Andy…the worst of combinations…our attention span is very short and decide to go in and ta pao another soya bean to drink. Then we notice the Electra House and go in to check it out…shop by shop*sigh* …by this time we forgot why we came out in the first place.
When we finally remembered our objective it was about 1.15 and we rushed down to the MAS office as fast as possible…of course we still had time to browse through some shops on the way though…when we finally arrived at the MAS office it was 1.40pm. We got our ticket which read(see pic):
DID YOU SEE THAT?!?! 208 customers waiting!!! ARRGH!!! It was only serving number 160+ at 1.40pm!!! Whats up with that?!?!
"so slow wan meh their system", I thought to myself…
I sure wasn’t gonna wait for 208 customers to be served… so off we went…SHOPPING!!!
Tip: This means window shopping…we’re poor…no money… can’t raid the stores like you rich girls…
Went so Sarawak Plaza to chill out for a while…came back to the MAS office about an hour later…
"Now Serving: 188"
I’m about to commit suicide…all we can do is trust God…of we go again in serach for treasures we cannot afford…laa dee dum dee daee…whee…go back to Sarawak Plaza…check out some manly macho stuff…like Gundam and anime action figures and cuddly soft toys. Then go to Tun Jugah across the road…see the Sony showroom and get another drink…sugar cane this time though…Time is 4pm and we’re heading back to the MAS office…
THIS IS THE GOOD PART!!!
if you were too lazy to read the above then at least read this part…those of you who actually bothered reading the above are probably cursing now coz it was boring and had not much significance…correct???
This time were smart…our legs are tired and we malas wanna walk out again…in case it’s not yet our turn we decide to buy some cheezy wedges at the KFC outside Tun Jugah…*yummy* Since the wedges aren’t ready yet we get a free drink…each!!! Halleluyah!!! …then we get our wedges but we ask for another drink anyway…you know it never hurts to ask, right? …coz he refilled our cup!!! double praises!!! …but then it rains…it rains bad.
…but luckily for us, I decided to bring an umbrella before we left!!! muahahahahahah!!!! unconscious prompting from the Lord!!! Tripple blessings!!! So off we walk practically hugging each other to the MAS office(very romantic mind you…but lets not talk about that…ever!). When we arrive the screen says:
"Now Serving: 260"
Oh man, we’re never gonna make it…to calm ourselves down we take out our cheezy wedges and start munching away…and in the process gets everyones attention, hehe…when were done I get this great idea of asking if we can tumpang someone elses ticket…so we scout around for a victim. Not more then 10 feet away is a cute girl which I notice is also holding her Grads Card…then I catch a glimpse of her number. It’s 264. I check the screen.
"Now Serving: 263"
I nudge Andy…
"It’s worth a try. No harm in asking…It’s now or never", I whispered.
So he asked her and whadaya know, she said YES!!! Hooray!!! Quadruple blessings from God Almighty himself!!! Saved!!! *phew* for a minute there I thought I’d actually have to come back tomorrow or something!!! Within a few seconds her number was called and we tagged along this kind stranger…Her name is Shiela Voon…
THANK YOU SO MUCH WHEREVER YOU ARE!!!
She’s our miracle, hehe…If anybody reading this knows this person from kuching, please tell me ya?!
We were so happy and offered to buy her a drink but she refused and walked off after she was done with her stuff…We laughed all the way to Crown Plaza. We went to check out some perfume that Andy wanted to buy…we bargained for so long to get some free stuff even though we didn’t have anymore money…so stupid, the shopkeeper actually wrapped the perfume up and was about to charge us and then we told her that we didn’t have any money…boy, was she pissed…so kerlian…but it was funny as well…partly my fault too lar coz I kept telling her that he was gonna buy it, hahaha…we were so tired by the end of all of this and finally headed home…it was a good day!!!
If anybody actually took the time to read this entire post please tell me…seriously. I know its friggin long but I couldn’t help it…it was just so..so…awesome!!! It might not seem that cool to you but thats because I cannot express His grace in words. His blessings are beyond comprehension. I just thank God that I am…
GREATLY BLESSEDHIGHLY FAVOUREDDEEPLY LOVED!!!
God bless you!

the thing is i don’t think they would’ve served up to that number by the time the office closed…it would’ve been a lost cause…
btw, Andy told me this story from the bible which relates to the post where Hagar(i think) was thirsty and the Lord opened her eyes and showed her a well. In the same way, he opened our eyes to the opportunity according to His timing! Praise the Lord!!!
